Educating the public on the issue of High blood pressure is the focus of the Grenada Food and Nutrition Council’s National Nutrition Week 2023.
The week of activities will kick off officially this Sunday with a public address by the Minister of Agriculture, and throughout the week, a number of media and public activities will be held to educate and engage persons on nutritional health.
Executive Secretary at the Grenada Food and Nutrition Council, Lydia Browne, says focusing on high blood pressure is an important component during the activities, since it’s one of the leading causes of death here.
Browne says National Nutrition Week will arouse awareness about the cause and effects of hypertension.
Taking the National Nutrition Week’s observance into account the Grenada Food and Nutrition Council officially launched its website gfnc@gov.gdyesterday.
Nutritionist, Akim Williams, says the website was created to help persons get accurate and reliable information about nutritional health.
