Also addressing reporters today, Government Minister, Oliver Joseph, noted that relief measures in the 2022 Grenada Budget are in the context of the negative effect COVID-19 has unleashed on the Nation’s citizens.

Joseph, who holds portfolios in Foreign Affairs, International Business and CARICOM Affairs, is of the view that covid-19 has caused undue hardship.

He speaks of the reduction in electricity rates.

Joseph explains that consumers of gas and diesel, as of the 18th of this month, will see a reduction in the rate per gallon, with the Government instituting a cap on prices, curbing the expected high costs of the commodity.

Among other things, Joseph speaks of the provision of an additional 150 dollars per household for beneficiaries under the seed programme.

He specifically noted that monies have been allocated to further stimulate the micro, small and medium enterprise sector.
