Information circulating is that Grenada is among ten regional countries that will receive a major boost to its Covid-19 vaccination programme.

This is on account of a five hundred thousand US dollar donation from regional bank CIBC FirstCaribbean.

REPORT:

It’s being made available by the bank through its charitable arm the “FirstCaribbean International ComTrust Foundation”.

The initiative will also support St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua, Trinidad and Tobago, the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Jamaica, St. Kitts/Nevis and St. Lucia.

Announcing the bank’s initiative, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the foundation, Colette Delaney, says the financial institution remains committed to assisting governments and public health officials with their vaccination programmes.

Delaney also praised the bravery of the bank’s staff and the men and women working on the frontlines across the region, in an effort to stem the spread of the Coronavirus.

The bank will also be providing an additional two hundred and fifty thousand US dollars to cover the cost of vaccinating members of its 2,500 staff. Sheena Phillip-Lynch, Wee FM News
