The nation is anticipating an upbeat atmosphere with the 2024 three-day Inter-Collegiate games getting underway as of tomorrow at the Kirani James International Athletic Stadium.

The Inter-Collegiate Sports meet is organized by the Ministry of sports and sponsored by Republic Bank.

The Championships will cater for athletes and their performances in many divisions and officials are already sighting a competitive and exciting affair.

There’s going to be the reintroduction of Hurdles.

Each day will feature approximately 30 final events, including relays.

All 25 secondary schools, Carriacou (included), are anticipated to provide keen competition, in both the girls’ and boys’ categories.

Paralympic athletes, through collaboration with the Grenada Paralympic Committee, will again be part of the programme, on Day 3 of Inter-Col.

Added attractions on Days I and II include a March Past competition among participating schools.

Day I will feature the girls in the Classique Lighting Caribbean March Past, while the boys will compete on Day II.

Each school is allowed a maximum of twenty-five (25) students, accompanied by music provided by the Band of the Royal Grenada Police Force.

It’s the third consecutive year Republic Bank is sponsoring the Inter-Col event.

The RGPF says law enforcement will be in full effect.

No guns and offensive weapons.
