Condolences continue to pour out in many different quarters on the passing of Jude Henry “Natty Nuclear Dread”.

The Grenada Cultural Foundation (GCF) extends condolences to Sisterly, Little Natty and the rest of the Henry family.

REPORT:

Jude Henry entered the calypso arena with the sobriquet ‘Natty Nuclear Dread’ and changed the nature of names in the fraternity.

Like the uniqueness of his name, ‘Natty Nuclear Dread’ has always been a strong persona, yet, with a quiet demeanor.

He’s known for his outspoken and analytical opinions on many issues surrounding calypso and music.

According to a release, the Cultural Foundation says although he ventured strongly into the calypso arena, he never left his reggae music behind.

Natty was no simple musician, it says, he was indeed one of the nation’s very best guitarist.

His family’s legacy will continue into the future through his son, Little Natty, whom he nurtured throughout his career.

His beloved wife, Sisterly, the Cultural Foundation says also shared his cultural journey, since she too was part of a powerful duo that will always be remembered for their contribution to culture.

They were like Ying and Yang down to the sweetness of her voice and the huskiness of his tones, and, what an amazing couple.

A musician, Calypsonian and writer, Natty Nuclear Dread has left a solid legacy in the artform.

A man who, the cultural Foundation noted, stood resolute to his convictions and provided a host of valuable lyrical content to the archives of calypso.
