GRENADA DOES NOT HAVE ANY STRAIN OF THE XBB.1.5 COVID SUB VARIANT ON RECORD

Grenada does not have any strain of the XBB.1.5 COVID sub variant.

That’s according to Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shawn Charles.  

Dr. Charles was speaking to members of the media yesterday at the Government’s post cabinet briefing, where he indicated that although the XBB.1.5 sub-variant is the most transmissible form of the COVID virus, recent sequencing test conducted on 8 samples returned negative.  

Dr. Charles is warning the populace to keep their guards up in view of the high transmissible rate of the XBB.1.5
