Grenada is expected to benefit significantly from a four-year regional Project spearheaded by the Food and Agricultural Organization to the tune of 90 Million US dollars.
The project is geared at the execution of sustainable Land Management and Land degradation in the Caribbean.
Other territories involved in the project are Antigua and Bermuda, Barbados, Belize, Guyana, St. Lucia, Haiti and Jamaica.
Regional Technical Officers began the ground work at a high-level forum yesterday in Trinidad and Tobago.
Regional Agricultural Ministers, including Minister for State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands Fisheries and Cooperatives Sen. Adrian Thomas will join the Forum on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
Speaking ahead of his two-day engagement at the regional meeting Sen. Thomas indicated that the project is already bearing fruits in Grenada.

These regional projects seek to create a conducive enabling environment and supports countries to establish, implement, monitor, and report on progress toward Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) targets.
