The Grenada Government and SVG Air, a Vincentian-based Airline Company, Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding paving the way for the Company to operate between the two islands 5 days a week.
SVG Air currently provides chartered flights between the islands twice weekly.
Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister, Dr. Clarice Modeste-Curwen, Thursday signed the MOU on behalf of the government of Grenada.
Dr. Modeste-Curwen earlier this year said the government was looking to source a Twin Otter plane, to provide daily flights between the mainland and the sister isle of Carriacou.
Today, that has become a reality.
Dr. Modeste-Curwen speaks of the added advantage this new service will provide, especially accommodating the air bridge between Grenada and Carriacou.
Dr. Modeste-Curwen says the government has subsidized the cost of the trip to make it affordable for travelers.
