Minister of Finance, Dennis Cornwall, today presented the 2024 Budget, to the tune of one billion, six hundred fifty-six million, three hundred fifty-six thousand, four hundred and ninety-nine dollars that will take into account the programmes and projects of the Government for the ensuing year. 

The 2024 budget was delivered under the theme ‘Grenada at 50: Empowering our people, transforming our nation.’  

During his 1hour and 45-minutes presentation, Minister Cornwall noted that the budget is set against a complex macro-economic backdrop, shaped by domestic and external factors.  

The Finance minister explained that the government’s fiscal position was significantly strengthened this year. 

Minister Cornwall outlined areas that will receive major funding, with Education, Health, Agriculture and National Security included. 

Debate on the Budget begins Thursday, with the response by Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Keith Mitchell.
