The Grenada Senate has approved a Supplementary Budgetary Estimate for the Government of Grenada to cover expenses for the rest of the year.

It comes after approval provided following debate on a similar substantive motion in the House of Representatives last Friday.

The Appropriation Bill in the Senate was piloted by the Leader of Government Business, Adrian Thomas, who made the case for 148 million, 990 thousand, 234 dollars.

Senator Thomas expresses great belief in the Governmentโ€™s agenda, saying that the supplementary Budgetary estimates were found to be needed, following the Governmentโ€™s mid-year review.

Senator Thomas highlighted the countryโ€™s 50th Independence golden jubilee anniversary as one that has attracted a significant amount of money with the celebration thatโ€™s being planned.

He says itโ€™s going to be launched next month.
