The Grenada Government is said to be developing a model to ensure Grenada Electricity Services (GRENLEC) is secured long term and is capable of delivering top quality affordable service to the public.

Simon Stiell, the Leader of Government Business in the Senate, made the comment in response to a motion presented at a Senate Meeting yesterday by labour Representative, André Lewis, highlighting that majority shares of GRENLEC must be owned by the government and people of Grenada.

Steill says the governments’ fundamental responsibility is to ensure long-term stability.

Business representative in the senate Christopher De-Allie said this issue is a national conversation and once managed properly will bring tremendous benefits to Grenada.
