The Grenada Government on Thursday launched three social development-focused programmes aimed at positively impacting on the Nation’s youth.

They are funded by the United States Agency for International Development’s Mission to the Eastern Caribbean.

The programmes are entitled CariSECURE 2.0, OASYS and Y-RIE, being introduced throughout the sub-region.

The OASYS programme seeks to embark on a model of rehabilitation, following in the footsteps of the Juvenile Justice Rehabilitation Programme (JJRP), as we hear from the Acting Head of the Human and Social Division of the OECS Commission, Sisera Simon.

Mrs. Simon issued a call for greater support for children.

The OECS Commission official noted the intention of the programmes is to help youths stay away from crime and violence and to have more productive lives.
