Minister For Industry and Consumer Affairs, Alvin Dabreo, has launched a multi-year campaign developed in close collaboration with the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
This is said to be directed to position international standards as tools to take action for the sustainable development goals.
This launch comes amidst the global observance of World Standards Day.
Grenada today joined the rest of the World in observance of the occasion, aimed at creating awareness about the importance of standardization to the global economy among consumers, regulators and industry.
Each year 14th October is designated World Standards Day, highlighting the work of the three global standards organizations the IEC, ISO and ITU.

Minister DaBreo says the observance is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of the thousands of experts worldwide, who develop the voluntary technical agreements published as International Standards.
