It was World Youth Skills Day today and Grenada joined countries around the planet observing the occasion.

It’s a UN-designated event, which provides a unique opportunity for dialogue between young people, technical and vocational education and training (tvet) institutions, firms, employers’ and workers’ organizations, policymakers, and development partners.

Celebrations this year will surround the theme “’Re-imagining Youth Skills Post-pandemic’, which aims to celebrate the resilience and creativity of youth throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

Coordinator of Youth Development, Royden Beharry, underscores the importance of developing the skills of young people in 2021.

Beharry is calling on the business community to provide an avenue for young people to access the labour market.
