Grenada can be expected to benefit from a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed recently between the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission and Econext, a Not-for-Profit Association based in Canada.

They have joined forces to promote sustainable development in the sub-region.

The MOU will seek to establish a framework for cooperation, strategic alignment and a shared commitment to tackling major issues, as well as seizing opportunities in fields like business ecosystem development and the blue and green economy.

The process is also expected to unlock new avenues for progress, enabling the OECS Commission and Econext to tackle pressing issues in the region, including climate change, marine conservation, and renewable energy.

OECS Director General, Dr. Didacus Jules, echoed the sentiment that “This collaboration will do a lot in helping advance the agenda set by the OECS for the upcoming triennium.”

According to him, it will provide a modality for the exchange of ideas, personnel, technology and experience.
