It’s been world blood Donor’s Day today seeking to create awareness about the need for safe blood and life-saving components of blood required for transfusion.
On the occasion, there’s been a call for more young people to come forward and be volunteers.
This year’s theme ‘Celebrating the Gift of Blood” with the slogan “Give blood and keep the world beating” is a stark reminder that any gesture of giving blood to save lives is precious.
Minister with Responsibility for Hospital and Community Health Services, Delma Thomas, made a special appeal for young people to step forward to ensure a safe blood supply.
Minister Thomas says giving blood is a noble act and as a small society citizens must continue to look out for each other.
