Here at home, Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Mitchell, speaks of success of the country’s COVID vaccination programme, which was rolled out a week ago, with first preference for frontline workers.
From reports this morning, he’s indicated that some 2700 individuals and counting have already been vaccinated with the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Dr. Mitchell discloses that more vaccines are coming to Grenada.
Dr. Mitchell says the approach is to have a majority of the population vaccinated.
Speaking about CARICOM and the reluctance of some of its members to fully abide by, and go full speed ahead, with the implementation of agreed upon initiatives, Dr. Mitchell believes there’s too much gerrymandering with the decisions taken.
With opportunities being afforded due to the pandemic for the region to cling together mostly in unity, the attitude of delaying implementation of decisions based on domestic circumstances has to stop.
The general view is that this has set back the process of strengthening the integration movement over the years.
Prime Minister, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell engaged in a special interactive information programme this morning.
