Prime Minister, Dr. The Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, is desirous of holding an urgent meeting with the management of Sandals resort on the matter of the COVID-19 situation.
With surveillance, it’s believed that the recent spike in COVID-19 positive cases emanated from within the resort.
In view of the current atmosphere, Dr. Mitchell addressed the Nation last evening, with the populace understanding that as of last week-end there were some 26 new positive cases of the virus in Grenada, which brought the total number to 71.
Dr. Mitchell says in an effort to effectively deal with the outbreak his Government has identified a number of short-term adjustments to the Covid-19 protocols.
It’s to enable health officials to intensify surveillance, monitoring and all other necessary actions to prevent the situation from escalating.
Prime Minister Mitchell pleaded with citizens not to drop their guard when it comes to COVID-19, especially during this festive period.
