With Grenada already rolling out its COVID vaccination programme, Health Minister, Nickolas Steele, says the island is exploring other avenues to obtain additional vaccines, in its fight against the global pandemic.

Steele says it’s necessary even though Grenada has no new, nor active COVID cases at the moment.

Grenada is currently using the Astrazeneca brand vaccine in the conduct of its COVID vaccination programme, on account of its receipt of some 6,000 doses, through the COVAX facility.

We hear that through the facility, Grenada is scheduled to receive some 45,600 more doses of AstraZeneca.

Steele says Grenada should receive 20% of its vaccines through the COVAX facility but reiterated that the country cannot rely on this alone.
