Grenada Relying On PAHO/WHO Certified Vaccine

0

Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shawn Charles, says health care providers will be among the first batch of individuals to receive vaccinations against the novel coronavirus, when the vaccine becomes available here in Grenada.

He says once a decision is made on the type of vaccine Grenada will acquire, through collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) front line workers will be given priority.

Grenada has already signed on to the COVAX facility with PAHO and the WHO for the procurement of the vaccine.

Dr. Charles says the expansion of the priority group here will be dependent on the quantity of vaccine Grenada can obtain.
