Grenada Senate Debated For State Of Emergency Extension

0

The Grenada Senate gave approval for the extension of the COVID State of Emergency to 1st May, 2022.

That formed the crux of contributions being made in the interest of Grenada’s fight against the deadly disease.

Earlier this week, the House of Representative gave approval for the extension and is not ratified by the Senate.

In arguments today, there’s been much talk of the need for citizens to take up the responsibility to protecting themselves and others, in what is now an ongoing battle, as it was put forward by Senator Norlan Cox who presented the motion for the State of Emergency extension.

Senator Cox called on COVID survivors to speak out, let their voices be heard as to the agony they faced, for citizens to become more aware of the need to do what is right to protect themselves against COVID-19.

Newly-appointed Senator, Victor Phillip, called for more to be done in spreading credible information, relative to protecting the Nation against COVID.

Opposition Senator, Matthew Joseph, says COVID has taught us that there’s need to do things differently.
