As part of a pilot programme to enhance its digital protection and improve cyber security response, the Government of Grenada will be working closely with Canada to introduce cyber security training here.

During a recent press conference Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell explained that as his administration pushes an electronic and digital agenda with E-payments and E- business, it’s important to make significant investments in protecting its systems, networks and programmes from digital attacks.

Prime Minister Mitchell said under the pilot programme approximately 100 hundred Grenadians are expected to be trained for 4 to 6 months remotely.

The Ministry of ICT, through its Cyber Security Incident Response Team (C-SIRT), offers round-the-clock computer security response services to citizens.

However, there remains a significant amount of work to be accomplished in this regard.

Prime Minister Mitchell says the department needs more resources.
