Grenada, will, tomorrow, join the United Nations and the rest of the World in observing International Day of Older Persons.
Observed October 1 annually, much focus is placed during the occasion to raise awareness about the well-being and needs of the elderly.
Looking at the pathways of coping with older persons in the context of the COVID-19 Pandemic, this year’s observance will be held under the theme “Pandemics: Do They Change How We Address Age and Ageing?”.
This year’s theme will provide an opportunity to admit the contribution of older persons in society and issues regarding respect, health and value.
The 2020 observance will promote the Decade of Healthy Ageing (2020 to 2030) and help bring together UN experts and other stakeholders to discuss the Global Strategy and Action Plan on Ageing and Health.
