Grenadians in the fisheries and conch sector will be given an opportunity to join other stakeholders in the OECS in a regional webinar on activating the blue economy through what’s referred to as the Blue BioTrade.

The exercise is carded for Saint Lucia Monday and Tuesday, between 10 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon.

The initiative is a key activity in the regional Blue BioTrade project, launched October last year and will seek to raise awareness and increase understanding among key OECS stakeholders about Blue BioTrade and applicable CITES requirements and decisions.

It will also explain the required information and inputs needed from stakeholders to elaborate value chain assessments in the OECS.

The project is spearheaded by the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) in partnership with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
