Grenada’s Ten-Times Calypso Monarch pays tribute to Trinidad and Tobago-born Leroy Calliste also known in the Calypso World as Black Stalin, who has transitioned to the “Great Beyond”.
Black Stalin, age 81, is reported to have died peacefully at his home around mid-morning today, after a lengthy suffering from a stroke.
His family was at his bedside when he died.

Stalin was known for his witty and biting social and political commentary such as ‘Ism Scism”, “Sufferers”, “Bun Dem”, and “We Could Make it if We Try”, a song that provides relief and encouragement, regardless of adversity.
