The latest from the Ministry of Health, as it was published yesterday, that Grenada has eleven active COVID cases, after recording an additional five new positive cases.
This latest addition brings to 178, the total number of COVID cases recorded on the island since the first confirmed case in Grenada was reported March 22, last year.
The latest cases range in age from 22-46 years and include two males and three females, all of whom are fully vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health says the cases are all quarantined in various facilities across the country.
In addition to the five most recent cases, another two cases were previously identified on August 5 and 6…one, a male Trinidadian national, is asymptomatic while the other, a female Jamaican, is experiencing nasal congestion, headache, sinus pain and coughing.
The latest update shows that 100 of the 178 cases thus far are imported.
There have been166 total recoveries and 1 death.
As it relates to the COVID Vaccination programme, some 17,013 individuals have so far received the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, while the number of persons receiving the first dose, in view of the statistics recorded August 7, stands at 21,859.
The update is showing that some 503 individuals are in quarantine facilities.
As it relates to RT-PCR Tests, 50,052 have been conducted.
Meantime, the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 vaccination drive continues through this week.

Vaccinations were conducted today and will run through Friday.
Individuals can visit the Kirani James Athletic Stadium and all Health Centres, from 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon.
Tuesday and Thursday individuals can also visit the St. Augustine Medical Services 12 noon to 3pm.
Individuals wishing to get vaccinated are reminded to walk with a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license, NIS card, or passport for quick registration.
Individuals returning for their second dose are reminded to walk with their COVID-19 vaccination card.
