Addressing the 76th session of the UN General Assembly today, Grenada’s Foreign Minister, Oliver Joseph, noted that COVID-19 has reaped havoc on the country’s economy.

Joseph explained that there’s also a socio-economic fallout, particularly among vulnerable groups.

In pointing out figures pre-COVID to date, Joseph expressed hope for a turn-a-round, but recovery, according to him, is at a slower rate than expected.

Joseph went on to say that Grenada and other CARICOM Member States reaffirm their commitment to tackling the climate change phenomenon, which poses a risk to the country’s agriculture.

In addressing the issue of racism, Mr. Joseph outlined Grenada’s stance on the issue.
