Grenada’s health minister, Nickolas Steele, once again seeks to allay the fears concerning the AstraZeneca vaccine.
As of yesterday a number of countries have issued temporary bans on the use of AstraZeneca’s two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, following reports that some people developed blood clots shortly after vaccination.
According to the report a handful of people have died after receiving the shot.
But, it’s unclear whether the reported blood conditions caused their deaths.
The European Medicines Agency Executive Director, Emer Cooke, noted there’s no evidence of a direct link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and blood clots.
However, the conversation goes on in Grenada.
Speaking to members of the media this morning, the Health Minister, spoke directly about the issue surrounding the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The Health Minister, meanwhile, gives the thumbs up to the conversation in neighbouring St. Vincent as it relates to having the vaccine mandatory in certain sectors, where people to peoples contact is necessary in an economic setting.
