It’s Valentines Day today and Grenadians far and wide are engrossed in the moment, as could be seen on social media, offering romantic courtesies to whom they love and cherish.
Putting it clearly, it’s a day for lovers, making the occasion for the expression of their feelings, one to another.
Originating as a Christian feast, commonly known as St. Valentine’s Day, there’s the tendency for lovers to express their affection with greetings and gifts and all the pleasantries that come with romanticism…a candlelight dinner, etc.
It’s a day where the colours red and white take on a special dimension and so too are the sale of flowers.
In truth and in fact, it presents a high point for consumerism and the commercial sector usually gets busy.
Well, we took our microphones to the streets of the city to check the atmosphere, which this year apparently doesn’t reflect the true traditional nature of the occasion.
