GRENADA’S PM MITCHELL TO LEAD TRADE AND TOURISM DELEGATION TO BARBADOS

Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell will lead a delegation of government, local business leaders, and hoteliers to Barbados to promote trade and tourism.

The delegation is expected to leave the island tomorrow.

Tourism officials say Barbados is Grenada’s second highest-producing Caribbean market and the Grenada Tourism Authority says the delegation will travel on InterCaribbean Airways, which is introducing the larger and more modern ATR-42 on its Grenada to Barbados route.

GTA, through a statement, said the new aircraft will deliver increased flight frequencies and will provide increased comfort and service reliability for passengers.

Grenada continues to rebuild its capacity between the two islands, to pre-COVID levels and forms part of Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell’s commitment to increasing airlift capacity and connectivity throughout the region.

GTA’s Chief Executive Officer, Petra Roach, says they were challenged with the lack of capacity on the Grenada-Barbados route which has retarded the rebound of the Caribbean market.
