GRENADA’S PRIME MINISTER DICKON MITCHELL SAYS PAYING PENSIONS AND GRATUITY WAS A MAJOR MILESTONE IN TAKING UP OFFICE ONE YEAR ON

One year since taking office, Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, says it’s been a period of remarkable progress.

Prime Minister Mitchell made the pronouncement in an address last evening to an audience, at the Radisson Crown Ball Room which was also streamed live.

He noted that the payment of pensions and gratuity was a major milestone along with the payment of the teacher’s docked salaries and honorarium to nurses.

Prime Minister Mitchell also spoke of being pleased with the status of wage negotiations in his administration’s first year in office.

The Grenadian leader says while his administration has achieved significant progress in the ambit of labour relations, there’s still much work to be done.

Prime Minister Mitchell noted that in the first year under review his government took bold steps at bolstering the economy and creating a fertile environment for investment and entrepreneurship.

The Prime Minister is due at a Town Hall meeting today at the Grenville Secondary School with concentration on his administration’s 1st year in Office.
