As it relates to the payment of outstanding pension and moves to pay the retroactive 60 million dollars as was announced previously, Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, says the process is getting started.
Speaking at a Post Cabinet Briefing this morning, the second for the new administration, the Prime Minister indicated that a Pensions’ Secretariat is being set up as part of the steps to advance the process.
Prime Minister Mitchell is spearheading plans and holding out expectation for the retroactive payments to be made by the middle of November.
The Prime Minister noted they had shared the Government’s intention with the Unions, with the hope of having a response to move forward but is yet to receive a reply, which he’ll consider in the affirmative.
