Prime Minister, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, substantiates that talks are in the making with the Nation’s teachers as far as it concerns the in-person reopening of schools.

Dr. Mitchell thanked Grenadians in the diaspora for all the support given thus far in helping the country in the fight against COVID-19, showing a great importance of the National sector overseas in the development of Grenada.

Looking at the school system, the Grenadian leader said  currently, classes are being held virtually, and, it’s acknowledged that there are challenges with several students, in particular, contending with vulnerability drawbacks.

This is one of the topics addressed during Dr. Mitchell’s engagement Saturday with the Grenadian diaspora.

He noted being very concerned that the Nation’s children are not actually in school physically.

Dr. Mitchell sends out a plea for the cooperation of all stakeholders in finding a way, especially where the safety and protection of both teachers and students are concerned.

Dr. Mitchell continues to indicate that the reopening of the physical classroom is a lifetime experience and is urging all in the system to help facilitate the process, even as far as it concerns the question of vaccination at this time.
