A Grenadian doctor, visiting the Spice Isle from the United States, Dr. Kenneth Roberts, is pleased with Grenada’s handling of COVID-19 thus far, and has issued a call for citizens to see the benefit in taking the vaccine, to guard against the virus.

He was guest at a News Conference this morning, called by the recently-sworn-in Senator, Rolanda Mc Queen.

Dr. Roberts, who, in his earlier years, resided in Munich, speaks of his experience with the medical fraternity in the US, dealing with the virus.

He sees efforts here in fighting the virus as commendable and warned that the COVID vaccine, specifically, is not a political issue.

He’s, however, thankful that vaccines have been developed to stop the onslaught of the virus.

According to Dr. Roberts, vaccine hesitancy is a worrying problem that should not be.

In combating this challenge, he’s off the view that health care professionals have to get out into the communities to be in touch directly with the people and transmit information about the necessity of the vaccine as the potent remedy to fight the virus.

Dr. Roberts challenges community physicians to be more at the forefront in offering credible information to the public.

Senator Rolanda Mc Queen noted that she was once in a quandary about taking the vaccine for lack of credible information, but is now confident that vaccine is the way to go to stem the tide of COVID-19.
