Local telecommunications provider, Flow, will, this evening, feature part two of a docu-series by world-renowned Grammy award-winning actor, Samuel L. Jackson.
Itโs entitled โEnslaved: The lost history of the transatlantic slave tradeโ.
Part 1 of Enslaved was aired on Flow 1 February 2.
ย Historian and Head of UWI Open Campus in Grenada, Dr. Phillip-Dowe is featured in part of Samuel Jacksonโs Enslaved, deep dive cast.
Dr. Phillip-Dowe categorizes the experience as one which is an honour being featured, given her passion for history and humanity.
The documentary is a story of struggle but more importantly a story of survival, Dr. Phillip Dowe says and โwe are the product of that survivalโ.
The six-episode docu-series delves into the history of 400 years of human trafficking from Africa to the New World (Caribbean and the Americas) through diving exploration efforts, as they search for, and, locate six slave ships that perished with their human cargo.
Also featured in this special production are host Emprezz Golding, along with leading experts in the region such as Alannah Vellacott โ Docu-series cast member and Marine Ecologist, Professor Verene Shepard โ Director at the Centre for Reparation Research (UWI); Steven Golding โ President of Universal Negro Improvement Association;
Part 2 of the special production will be aired on Flow 1, this evening.
