Reflecting on Grenada’s 48th year as an independent Nation, Prime Minister, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, says notwithstanding the bumps along the road that threatened to derail progress, the country has recorded many milestones in the past four decades.
Dr. Mitchell was addressing the Nation at the 48th-anniversary military parade yesterday at the Kirani James International Athletic and Football Stadium.
The crowd was absent for yet another year because of the COVID pandemic.
Considering Grenada contending with the effects of the coronavirus and having dealt with adversities in the past, Dr. Mitchell noted there’s much to be proud of as the country is approaching its way to a half century as a Nation.
Dr. Mitchell says faced with the pandemic times, the Government has done all within its power bringing relief to the marginalized and it remains committed to do so.
However, he says there’s a need for greater partnership in the process.
Dr. Mitchell says in looking towards the future all must be together with a common objective of guiding the country onto sustainable development.
