Yesterday we were brought up-to-date with information that a Grenadian-registered freighter, MV Reane F, owned by a native of the Sister Isles, journeying from Trinidad to Grenada, goes beneath the ocean.

The motor vessel is said to have encountered problems in Trinidad waters, after leaving the port there, en route to Grenada.

The Trinidad/Grenada route is a weekly routine for the Company.

On its voyage to Grenada, we were told that the vessel was loaded with merchandise belonging to traffickers and business enterprises.

One source said there was a great deal of pig feed on board the vessel.

We were also told another vessel was in the vicinity at the time the Reane F was in distress and ventured toward the location rescuing passengers and crew.

The losses are estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
