Grenadians Celebrate Kwanzaa

Several Grenadians are this week engaged in celebrating the African culture and traditions, associated with Kwanzaa.

Kwanzaa activities began Boxing Day and will run until 1st January.

During the week of Kwanzaa, families and communities come together to share a feast, to honor the ancestors, while reflecting on its seven core principles, unity, self- determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity and Faith.

An observer of the occasion, Curlan Campbell, spoke to WEE Fm News explaining the first Principle of the Kwanzaa celebration.

Emphasizing the significance of the observance, Campbell says it’s important for individuals to learn about the celebration.
