Yesterday we told you for the first time two Grenadian organizations have openly jumped into the fray publicly commenting on the Israel-Hamas-Palestinian conflict.
The Grenada Trades Union Council (GTUC) has sent out a release calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the violence that has accounted for thousands of live in the past month of the conflict.
The “Grenadians for Justice Committee” staged a protest march yesterday to the US Embassy here to deliver a letter to the Charge De Affaires for the United States of America, an ally of Israel, to intervene and do more to ensure the cessation of hostilities.
Israel’s actions have come in defiance of the Hamas strike on October 7, with the capture of some 1,400 of its citizens being held as hostages, some of whom were reportedly killed in the process.
The Trades Union Council and the Grenadians for Justice say they are appalled over the war with the Israeli killing of innocent and unarmed people in Palestine.
Representative of “Grenadians for Justice”, Siddiqui Sylvester, wants the US to seriously use its influence for the hostilities to end.
All along, Israel has been saying for there to be any ceasefire, Hamas must release the Israeli hostages it has been holding captive.
