Grenadians Told Don’t Leave Room For Complacency As Far As Covid-19 Is Concerned

Grenada’s Chief Medical Officer, Epidemiologist Dr. Shawn Charles, reports that the country had done exceedingly well so far in keeping the Coronavirus at bay, but it’s no time for complacency.

Dr. Charles was speaking to reporters in today’s Post-Cabinet Briefing about the country’s Health situation in relation to COVID-19.

He says Grenada continues efforts to ensure the population is protected and called on citizens to be mindful.

Dr. Charles, however, says there are many reasons now that give great cause for Grenada to be more concerned about the virus.

Dr. Charles looks specifically at India and also Trinidad and Tobago, closer to home.

Dr. Charles, however, is not happy the way individuals are conducting themselves, putting their personal safeguards against the virus on the back-burner.

This, according to him, is a dangerous precedent, especially where there’s a noticeable vaccine hesitancy, and, in recent times, a rebellious behaviour.

Dr. Charles was firm in sending out this warning.
