While there’s been a welcome ease in the COVID situation here, Grenadians are being encouraged to be still on the lookout.

Advice from one-time Chairman of Grenada’s COVID Response Committee, Dr. Bert Brathwaite, who’s been observing internationally the movement of a new omicron sub-variant!

He says moreso the elderly and persons with underlying medical conditions should be on their guard, especially as the sub-variant seems to be more prevalent within the US at this time and considering suspected reports of the situation in China.

Dr. Brathwaite is suspecting there could be a possible surge of the virus probably in the first quarter of this year.

Dr. Brathwaite sees vaccination as the best bet in securing oneself against the virus and there should be no reluctance in doing so.

Dr. Brathwaite says in spite of the China situation which appears risky, the best thing to do at this time is to be aware and prepare.
