Grenadians are being urged to take advantage of the Tax Amnesty being made available by the Grenada Government and administered by the Ministry of Finance.
Appropriate legislation giving full effect to the measure was passed in the House of Representatives yesterday and will go through its final hurdle when Senators meet.
The Tax Amnesty provides a 100% waiver on all interests and penalties to taxpayers with existing tax arrears.
The Government says it’s seeking to recover some of the millions of dollars in taxes, with the amnesty measure being allowed for one year.
Speaking on the Tax Administration Amendment Bill 2023, which amends the Tax Administration Bill of 2016, Finance Minister, Dennis Cornwall, noted that persons in arrears are being given the opportunity for relief and are encouraged to take advantage of the amnesty.
