The Drug Control Secretariat here says it’s in contact with the relevant authorities as the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) have issued warnings about the availability and use of a new drug, ‘Zesser Pill’, in the twin-island Republic.

Officials of the Drug control Secretariat say there’s no information on the availability and use of Zesser pills here in Grenada, but they would provide further information in due course.

According to reports, the pill has been blamed for causing severe adverse physical and mental behavioural reactions by users and is said to be growing in popularity as a ‘party drug’.

The chemical composition of the drug has not yet been verified by the Trinidad and Tobago Forensic Science Centre.

 Investigations are still underway.

Speculation is rife that zesser pills are a combination of two drugs, ‘ecstasy and cocaine’.
