On the evening of 18 May 2023, two isolated incidents interrupted electricity service in parts of mainland Grenada.
In one instance, a tree fell in the Tempe area, breaking a pole and some major feeder lines at about 9:59PM. Electricity was restored to most customers who were affected within two hours. 32 customers in parts of Tempe and parts of Mt. Parnassus remained out of service between 10:00PM – 7:30 AM on 19 May.
The second incident was a line fault, which affected customers from Vendome – Snell Hall for about one hour from 9:53PM.
Grenlec apologises for the inconvenience to customers for these unplanned events.
We also thank the team members, who worked throughout the night to repair the damage and restore electricity service to customers.
