There seems to be no let-up in the Government/Teachers saga over the 2021-4% wage increase and Unions continue to accuse the Government of not heeding their call.

Outgoing GUT President General, Marvin Andall, expresses sheer disgust and disappointment at the Government’s actions to date.

In January the Government sent a proposal to the Unions requesting a deferral of the 4% increase, which it indicated finding difficulty to make payment at the time, having also to contend with the economic fallout of COVID-19.

Reflecting on the many challenges workers faced last year, Andall believes the teachers call is timely, one which he says is a fight for social justice.
