Grenada teachers observed World Teachers Day, today, taking stock of their achievements and drawing their attention to their voices for greater recognition.

They joined their counterparts on the global circuit seeking to highlight the ups and downs of the profession, which, in the halls of academia, is considered noble.

The general view is that educators are at the heart of efforts to attain the global education target of leaving no one behind.

With the theme “Teaching for a Better World, Together in Strength and Solidarity”, the role of teachers in building resilience and shaping the future of education and the teaching profession is addressed, as we hear from President of the Grenada Union of Teachers, Marvin Andall.

Andall believes World Teachers Day has become the occasion to mark progress and reflect on ways to counter the remaining challenges for the promotion of the teaching profession.

The GUT boss underscores the role of a teacher as one that’s essential in shaping the moral fabric of a nation.
