Health Minister Nicholas Steele says Grenada has re-examined its travel protocols and has taken into consideration the most recent guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Relating to the revised protocols, Minister Steele has indicated that individuals will be expected to get a post-travel test between three and five days after travel, and will now be expected to remain in isolation seven days after travel.
The health minister was speaking to reporters yesterday at the government’s weekly post cabinet briefing, giving a general update on Grenada’s COVID conditions.
Looking at the state of play surrounding emergency regulations, Steele speaks of the necessity for the continuation of the nightly curfew and the need for tougher enforcement of COVID-19 protocols.
When asked about the constitution as it relates to isolation and also about the number of current active COVID cases since the announcement of the cluster here recently, the health Minister had this to say.
Steele says given the global COVID threat, it’s the government’s responsibility to protect its citizens, urging individuals to remain vigilant and follow the COVID-19 protocols.
Grenada’s recorded COVID cases, according to the Health Minister, stand at 139; 12 active, 127 recovered.
There’s been one death.
