The Ministry Of Health today rolled out the PFIZER Brand COVID-19 vaccine to citizens.

A shipment of 29,250 doses donated by the US Government, through the COVAX facility, was received last week.

It provides the scope for Grenadians in the range of 12 years and over to get vaccinated against the virus.

Well, we are understanding that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for Covid-19.

It’s for the prevention of Covid-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older.

Health Minister, Nickolas Steele, is hoping that the decision will bring more confidence to the people, and in turn, lead to an uptake in the vaccine locally.

The Health Ministry’s COVID-19 vaccination drive continues throughout this week at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium and all Health Centres through to Friday, from 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon each day.

Tomorrow and Thursday, individuals can also visit the St. Augustine Medical Services (SAMS) 12 noon to 3pm.

Individuals wishing to get vaccinated at the various Health Centres are also reminded that an appointment must be made to visit the Health clinics, and must have a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license, NIS card, or passport, for quick registration.

Individuals returning for their second dose are reminded to walk with their COVID-19 Vaccination card.
