Earlier we told you about a fire in Hermitage, St. Patrick, this morning which destroyed a two-bedroom house and in light of investigation, one man was in police custody.

We understand that officers of the Grenville Fire Department responded to a report that a dwelling house was engulfed in flames.

When they arrived at the scene a wooden and concrete structure was completely gutted.

Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), subsequently detained a resident of the Hermitage, St. Patrick, area, who it is said confessed to committing the act.

Now, charges have been laid on 36-year-old Kevon Joseph.

He was arrested and charged by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department for the offence of Arson, in connection with the dwelling house fire at Hermitage, St. Patrick.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Joseph is in police custody; he will make his first appearance at Grenville Magistrate’s Court Monday.
