Members of the House of Representatives today unanimously approved a six-month extension of the COVID-19 State of Emergency, in Grenada’s continued fight against the Coronavirus.

A resolution to the effect was presented at a special sitting of the Lower House of Parliament by the Leader of Government Business, Gregory Bowen.

He noted that the COVID-19 situation in Grenada and the rest of the World is still a troubling issue.

The current life of the State of Emergency is due to end November 20 and approval has been granted for the extension to 1st May, 2022.

In Grenada’s quest to get back to some form of normalcy, the question about the need for citizens to get fully vaccinated comes up.

The Prime Minister warns the Nation not to pay attention to vaccine nay-sayers.

He sees it as a ploy directed to mislead.

He says it’s unfortunate that people will cling to misinformation that’s not good for their health as well as the health of the Nation.

He says the leaders in the society who know better need to speak up.

Opposition Leader, Tobias Clement, in supporting the motion, is urging Grenadians not to become complacent.
